Kimberly Pecoraro | Co-Founder, President

Kimberly is coming to a|MEN|ity after 10-years with Peter Thomas Roth Clinical Skin Care where she was responsible for tremendous growth.  She started at Peter Thomas Roth in 1997 as an Account Executive, originally handling trade shows and spa sales.  She transitioned into the retail sector and her results were nothing short of spectacular and within two years she rose to the post of Vice President of Sales & Marketing.   She forged a name for her company as well as for herself by launching Peter Thomas Roth in Bloomingdales in 1998, Sephora in 1999, Saks Fifth Avenue in 2000, followed by Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom, Ulta, Bath & Body Works, CO Bigelow, Fred Segal, Bliss Out Catalog, among countless others.  Her experience and contacts are not limited to the Unites States, as Kimberly worked internationally to launch that brand in England's premier beauty outlet SpaceNK.  She also brought the line to Asia in Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan, followed by opening doors in the Scandinavian countries, Canada and most recently in Israel.

In 2001, Kimberly tackled another role within Peter Thomas Roth -- assisting in the launch of a secondary line, the June Jacobs Spa Collection.  In this same year, she also helped the company open its own manufacturing facility in Moonachie, NJ.  During Kimberly's time with Peter Thomas Roth, the company grew from a five person staff to an operation more than 10 times the size.  She also created a national sales team which grew exponentially under her leadership. Having built two brands under the Peter Thomas Roth umbrella and nurtured industry relationships throughout the world, Kimberly felt it was time to reinvigorate herself with a change and a different career slant.  Kimberly is excited to be working with a new line and competing in the fastest growing skincare market - men's grooming.  Her hopes and goals for a|MEN|ity are set high and, based on her track record, the a|MEN|ity team will benefit from her leadership.

What's your favorite Amenity product and why?
Well, these are men's products, so I'll tell you what my husband's favorite product is — after shave and face moisturizer. His face and neck looks great and I think he loves his clear complexion (in addition to the visible immediate benefits of that product, I know that by using it daily, he's going to continue being a hot commodity later in his life because this product has tremendous age-control benefits for men). It's funny to me that men don't necessarily think about aging as much as women, but Amenity knows they will when it's probably too late, so we're making sure Amenity products keep him looking great (age-control ingredients are in all of our skincare products — one less step, one more benefit).

Brands I am stoked on:
I am the biggest shoe and purse junkie.  My favorites include Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Jimmy Choo.

What is the most amazing thing on earth?
Without a doubt my 9 month old nephew Gavin, he never ceases to amaze and dazzle me.

Favorite Grooming Rumor:
"I only need to use shave cream to look good." Men say this to me sometimes. First off, that's great if he does look good (some men are blessed that way). But come on, the men's skin care industry is an 18 billion dollar global marketplace because it's all about keeping men looking youthful and healthy over the course of their life. A market this size doesn't exist based on false claims and myth. Men who think that shaving with a high-quality shaving cream alone should consider that older gentleman who look great, probably do so because they take care of their face (moisturizer daily, cleanse daily, and use sunscreen). It's a lifestyle thing, just like eating well for a long life span. Be good to your skin and you will be dazzling the ladies in your golden years.

Favorite Grooming Fact:
79% of American men say "I have one or more skin problem(s) that I notice daily." This is a fact that we harvested in a recent Amenity-commissioned research study that involved hundreds of men in major cities across the country. This fact is one of the reasons why my team and I are so enthusiastic and confident about our work at Amenity — quite simply, we can help a ton of men look and feel better. It's one part of the job that I absolutely love!

What was the last book you read?
The Devil Wears Prada

Do you shave every day?
That's a question for Dwight, right? My husband shaves every day. I've known Mitch for 10 years and watching him has made me really sympathetic to what men go through to keep their mugs close shaven and looking good (both for professional and personal success). It's a pain (figuratively and literally!). I remember when I got the stamp of approval from Mitch on our new shave cream — he came out of the bathroom with his hands on his cheeks smiling big — I knew we had a winner because Mitch doesn't really care about grooming products — but now he can't shave with anything else.

When guys ask you about Amenity products, what do you say?
Just try the products and you'll quickly understand what Amenity is all about. It's too difficult talking specifics with most men because they just don't think about it that much. It's just like the women's market 10 years ago. Then we educated the customer base and "poof" — all women were being good to their skin and keeping their skin healthy. I think the same will happen with men once they try Amenity and begin to understand the value proposition of these products.

Best Business Tip:
Believe in yourself and your product, everything else will fall into place.

Another Business Tip:
The key to succeeding is having a great team and building team spirit.  I have always believed the way to build a business is to get behind your people, support them and they'll support you in return.

What is the greatest job that you've ever held?
I've worked at some great places — even as an intern at Sally Jessy Raphael and I've been on staff at Marvel Comics.  I consider myself extremely fortunate to have spent a lot of time working in such creative and entertaining environments. But I must say, taking "the leap" and launching a Company (i.e., Amenity) with two great co-founders, is the greatest professional challenge and the most rewarding so far in my life.

What are you known for?
Being able to build a team and getting things done (and crystal light)
